Repair or Replace?

A tough question for many homeowners with older systems is whether to repair or replace their failing system. Nothing is more frustrating than spending money to repair an older HVAC system, only to have it fail again shortly after.

If it is time for a new system, you will realize the benefits immediately. Energy efficient air handlers and heat pumps will drastically reduce your energy costs. Other benefits include quieter operation, programmable thermostats, and better performance under demanding conditions.

What are my energy efficiency options?

The latest buzzword in the HVAC industry is "Energy Efficient" - but what does that mean? Energy efficient means that your HVAC system maintains maximum performance while consuming minimal energy.

This translates into very real savings on your energy bill. In most cases, energy efficient systems will pay for themselves in just a few short years.

Energy efficient also means better performance. Because energy is conserved so well, your HVAC system is not only saving you money, it is performing better.

Carrier products lead the way in energy efficiency. Click here to learn more about energy efficiency (like what a "SEER" rating is). Or feel free to call Alpine Aire to speak with a representative.

How can I improve the air quality in my home?

Carrier electronic air filter

Air quality is a common concern for families in Central Washington. Recent fires near the Wenatchee Valley prompted many phone calls from concerned customers about the air quality in their homes.

The good news is that there are many simple solutions to most air quality concerns.

Upgrading to an electronic air filter will drastically reduce airborne bacteria, odors, and even smoke -- making the air in your home safe and clean for the entire family.

Best of all, electronic air filter installation is quick and easy.

No mess, no haggle. Just fresh, clean, air.

How often should you change your air filter?

Generally most filters should be changed every 1-2 months. Your filter may need to be changed more often than this depending on the quality of air in your home

It is a good idea to regularly inspect your filter for signs of dirt and/or damage. If it looks dirty, then it is no longer doing its job and needs to be replaced.

Other filters, like the 4" pleated filter, need to be changed less often, approximately every 4-5 months.

Electronic air filters never need to be replaced! However, these filters should be cleaned regularly. Our Planned Maintenance customers will automatically receive this service during their scheduled appointment.
