Is it the ducts?
Signs your ductwork needs attention.
ENERGY STAR estimates that leaky ducts in attics and crawlspaces can account for 20 percent or more of a home's heating and cooling energy losses.
- One or two rooms are always colder in winter or warmer in summer.
- Weak airflow from some registers while others blow hard.
- Ducts run through the attic, crawlspace or garage.
- Flexible ducts are kinked, crushed, sagging or disconnected.
- Dust comes back quickly after cleaning, or the house smells stale when the system starts.
- A new furnace or heat pump didn't fix comfort problems the old one had.
What we do
Duct services, from a quick fix to a full replacement.
Inspect and test
Find where the air is going
We check accessible runs, connections and returns, and measure airflow at the registers to see which rooms are short.
Repair and seal
Leaky duct repair
Joints and seams get sealed with mastic or foil tape rated for ducts, never cloth duct tape, and disconnected runs get reattached and supported.
Insulate
Ducts in cold spaces
Insulating runs in the attic or crawlspace keeps warm air warm on the way to the room.
Replace
New ductwork
When runs are too damaged, too small or poorly laid out, we replace them, often alongside a new furnace or heat pump.
New heat pump with ductwork →Clean
Duct and dryer vent cleaning
Removes built-up dust and debris from the supply and return system. Priced by the number of vents.

Ductwork questions
Air duct FAQ
How much does duct cleaning cost?
Duct cleaning starts at $599 for up to 16 vents and 1 return. Each additional vent or return is $28.50, attic or crawlspace access adds $150, and homes over 2,200 square feet or with many stairs add $150 for a second technician.
Why is one room always cold?
The usual causes are a leaking or disconnected duct, a crushed flex run, a long run to the far end of the house, or no return air from that room. An airflow check at the registers narrows it down.
Can I seal ducts with duct tape?
No. Cloth duct tape dries out and lets go. Ducts are sealed with mastic or foil tape made for ductwork.
Do I need new ducts with a new heat pump or furnace?
Not always. We check the existing ducts during the estimate and only recommend replacing runs that are damaged, undersized or poorly routed.
Do you clean dryer vents?
Yes. Dryer vent cleaning is $250 on its own or $154.88 when it's done with a duct cleaning.
