Large or complex project? Custom incentives may be available. Bring Alpine Aire into the planning process early so the project can be reviewed before equipment decisions are final.
A major opportunity to lower project cost
For a qualifying conversion from electric-resistance heat, the estimated incentive grows with system size at $2,400 per ton. Even a modest commercial project can create a substantial opportunity to reduce the upfront investment.
Your Estimated Conversion Incentive
Example: 10 qualifying tons × $2,400 = $24,000 in estimated incentives.

That is more than a small discount—it could materially change the budget for replacing electric-resistance heating with an efficient commercial heat-pump system. Your actual opportunity depends on the existing heat source, qualifying system capacity, equipment, eligible project cost, and Chelan PUD approval.
Already heating with a heat pump?
Eligible upgrade projects may qualify for $400 per ton: an estimated $2,000 for 5 tons, $4,000 for 10 tons, or $8,000 for 20 tons.
Commercial heat-pump incentives require contractor-submitted pre-authorization. Let Alpine Aire review your existing system and estimated tonnage before equipment is ordered or installation begins.

Frequently asked questions
Qualifying electric-resistance conversions may receive $2,400 per ton. Eligible heat-pump upgrades, additions, major renovations, and new commercial construction may receive $400 per ton.
Yes. The HVAC contractor must submit pre-authorization before installation for commercial ducted, ductless, and VRF heat-pump projects.
Complete commercial submissions typically take about seven business days to review. A pre-authorization is valid for six months.
One ton equals 12,000 BTU/h of HVAC capacity. A qualifying 5-ton conversion, for example, would have an estimated incentive of $12,000 before Chelan PUD verification.
Yes. Qualifying new commercial construction may receive the $400-per-ton upgrade incentive but not the conversion incentive.
Chelan PUD excludes short-term rentals, long-term rentals, condos, townhomes, cabins, and other residential-style lodging from the commercial program. Some may qualify through a residential program instead.
The program is for qualifying Chelan PUD commercial customers in Chelan County. The project address and utility account must meet program requirements.
