Four safe checks before you call.
If none of these fixes it, shut the system off so a frozen coil or a struggling compressor doesn't get worse, and call us.
- Thermostat. Set to Cool, a few degrees below the room, with fresh batteries if it uses them.
- Filter. A clogged filter can freeze the indoor coil and stop airflow.
- Breakers. Check the indoor and outdoor breakers. Reset once; if one trips again, leave it off.
- Outdoor unit. Clear grass, leaves and cottonwood fluff away from the coil. Don't open the panels.
Replacing your AC
New AC or a heat pump?
Both remove heat and humidity from the house the same way. The difference is whether the outdoor unit can also run in reverse and heat.

AC repair and tune-up prices.
A repair is billed as dispatch, diagnostic, repair and parts; neither fee is credited toward the repair. After-hours rates apply after 5 p.m., on weekends and on holidays. AA Comfort Club members pay half the dispatch fee and get 15% off parts and labor.
We no longer use R-22, and R-22 is no longer produced. If your AC is low on R-22, replacing the system is usually the realistic fix, and we'll price both an AC and a heat pump for you.

How much does an AC repair visit cost?
A visit is a dispatch fee by town, $119 in Wenatchee, East Wenatchee and Cashmere and $149 to $279 farther out, plus a diagnostic fee of $72 to $130. The technician quotes the repair price before starting.
Why is my AC blowing warm air?
Common causes are a thermostat set wrong, a clogged filter, a tripped outdoor breaker, a failed capacitor or contactor, low refrigerant or a frozen coil. Check the thermostat, filter and breakers first; for anything else, turn the system off and call us.
Should I replace my AC with a heat pump?
Often, yes. A heat pump cools the same way and also heats most of the year. With a gas furnace it becomes a dual fuel system, and homes leaving an electric furnace in Chelan PUD territory may qualify for a utility incentive.
Can you still service an AC that uses R-22?
We no longer use R-22, and R-22 is no longer produced. We can still diagnose the system, and if it needs refrigerant we'll price a replacement AC or heat pump.
When should I get an AC tune-up?
In spring, before the first hot week. A tune-up is $179, and the AA Comfort Club includes a spring visit.
Do you offer after-hours AC repair?
Yes, we offer after-hours emergency service across our service area. After 5 p.m., on weekends and on holidays the dispatch fee is $330 plus the diagnostic fee.
