Air Conditioning Installation in Quincy, WA

Getting central cooling into a Quincy home comes down to three choices: a new air conditioner that works with the furnace you already have, a heat pump that cools in summer and heats in winter, or ductless mini-splits for houses without ducts. We'll walk you through all three and give you a free in-home estimate.

Three ways to cool a house on the Basin.

Which one fits depends mostly on what heats your home today and whether it has ductwork.

A central air conditioner

An outdoor condenser and an indoor coil that share the blower and ducts of your existing furnace. A sensible pick when the furnace still has years left and you only need summer cooling.

Best for: a newer gas, propane or electric furnace with ducts

A heat pump

It cools exactly like an air conditioner, then runs in reverse to heat through most of the winter. Paired with an air handler or a furnace, it covers both seasons with one outdoor unit.

Best for: an aging furnace, or anyone tired of two systems

Ductless mini-splits

Slim wall units, one per room or zone, fed by a small outdoor unit. No ductwork needed, and they heat in winter as well.

Best for: baseboard-heated homes, additions and shops

Why there's no AC-only price on this page

A straight air conditioner install depends on the furnace, coil, ducts and electrical panel it has to work with, so we don't post a range for it. A comfort advisor prices it at a free in-home estimate, usually next to a heat pump option so you can compare.

What it costs

Installed price ranges for Quincy homes.

Prices for systems that heat and cool are posted below. Air conditioner-only systems are priced at your free in-home estimate.

System Installed price What to know
Central air conditioner
works with your current furnace
Free in-home estimate Depends on your furnace, indoor coil, ducts and electrical service.
Ducted heat pump + air handler $15,331–$26,702 Cooling and heating in one system, from our Good to our Best tier.
Dual fuel
heat pump + gas furnace
$15,706–$26,748 The heat pump cools and does most of the heating; the furnace takes the coldest nights.
Ductless, single zone $7,000–$8,700 One indoor head for one main room or a shop office.
Ductless, multi-zone $11,000–$21,500 Two or more heads on one outdoor unit.

What we look at during your estimate

  • Your furnace. Its age and blower decide whether a new AC can pair with it or a heat pump makes more sense.
  • The ductwork. Size and leaks affect how well cool air reaches the far bedrooms.
  • The electrical panel. A new outdoor unit needs its own circuit.
  • Where the outdoor unit goes. Out of the worst wind, with room around it to breathe.

Long summers, steady wind, field dust.

Quincy sits out on the open Columbia Basin. Cooling season runs long, and the wind carries dust off the fields all summer. Both shape how we size and place a new system.

Sizing for long runs.
A unit that runs for weeks of heat needs to be matched to the house, not guessed from square footage.

Coils that stay clean.
Dust packs into condenser fins and filters fast here, so we set the unit where it's easy to rinse and service.

Thinking about winter too.
If a heat pump can take over most of your heating, one install may cover both seasons.

Grant PUD customers

Utility rebates and a new AC in Quincy.

Quincy, Crescent Bar, George and Trinidad get their power from Grant PUD, so Grant PUD's rules decide any rebate.

Air conditioner only

No rebate

We don't claim any utility rebate for a straight AC system.

A cooling-only system isn't a heat pump conversion, so we don't count on one.

Switching to a heat pump from a different heating system, such as a furnace or baseboards Possible
Replacing a heat pump you already have Doesn't qualify
A new central air conditioner None claimed

Grant PUD has tied its heat pump rebates to conversions since January 1, 2026, and sets the amount itself. We check the current program with you before you decide. Grant PUD rebates

Saw a Chelan PUD amount somewhere?

Those incentives belong to Chelan County customers of Chelan PUD. They don't apply to homes on Grant PUD power.

Before you decide

Quincy AC installation questions.

How much does a new air conditioner cost in Quincy?

We don't publish a price for an air conditioner-only install, because it depends on the furnace, coil, ducts and electrical service it has to work with. We price it at a free in-home estimate. For comparison, a ducted heat pump with an air handler runs $15,331 to $26,702 installed.

Should I get an AC or a heat pump?

If your furnace is fairly new and you only want summer cooling, a central air conditioner can make sense. If the furnace is getting old, a heat pump gives you cooling plus efficient heat from one outdoor unit. We can price both at the same visit.

Does Grant PUD give a rebate for a new air conditioner?

We don't claim any utility rebate for an air conditioner-only system. Grant PUD's heat pump rebates are for switching to a heat pump from a different heating system, and replacing an existing heat pump doesn't qualify. Grant PUD sets the amount.

My house has baseboard heat and no ducts. Can I still get cooling?

Yes. Ductless mini-splits cool and heat without ductwork. A single-zone system runs $7,000 to $8,700 installed, and multi-zone systems run $11,000 to $21,500.

Do you install in George and Trinidad too?

Yes. We install and service cooling systems in Quincy, Crescent Bar, George and Trinidad, and estimates for new systems are free in all four.

My old AC uses R-22. Can you add refrigerant instead of replacing it?

We no longer use R-22. If an R-22 system is low on refrigerant, replacing it with a new AC or a heat pump is usually the practical fix, and we'll price both for you.
