Heat Pump Installation in Quincy, WA

Quincy sits on the open Columbia Basin, with long hot summers, wind off the fields and January nights in the low 20s. A heat pump handles both ends of that year. Grant PUD runs its own rebate rules here, and they differ from Chelan PUD's across the river.

About 1,300 feet up, on open farmland

What a Quincy heat pump has to handle.

Average January lows run about 23°F, and summer afternoons get hot and dry. Wind and field dust ask more of the outdoor unit and the filter than a sheltered valley yard does.

Cooling for long summers
Whole-home cooling without window units in every bedroom.
Heating sized first
Cold-climate equipment with backup heat for the coldest nights.
A sheltered outdoor spot
Out of the prevailing wind, raised off the ground, with clear airflow.
Filters that keep up
Dusty months can mean more frequent filter changes. We show you how.

Quincy questions

Heat pump questions we hear in Quincy.

Does Grant PUD give a rebate for a heat pump in Quincy?

For many homes, yes. Since January 1, 2026, Grant PUD's heat pump rebates are for homes converting to a heat pump from a different heating system. Replacing an existing heat pump doesn't qualify for that conversion rebate. We check the current amount with Grant PUD before you buy.

Can I use the Chelan PUD rebates I've read about?

Not in Quincy. Those programs are for Chelan PUD customers in Chelan County. Quincy, Crescent Bar, Trinidad and George are served by Grant PUD, which has its own rules and form.

What does a heat pump cost in Quincy?

A ducted heat pump with a new air handler runs $15,331 to $26,702 installed, and dual fuel runs $15,706 to $26,748. A single-zone ductless system runs about $7,000 to $8,700, and multi-zone ductless about $11,000 to $21,500. All of these are before any Grant PUD rebate.

Will a heat pump keep up with a Quincy winter?

Yes, when it's sized for heating and paired with backup heat. Average January lows in Quincy are about 23°F, so we choose cold-climate equipment and plan electric backup or a furnace for the coldest nights.

What does a service call cost in Quincy?

Quincy and Crescent Bar are in our $149 dispatch zone, and Trinidad and George are $279. A diagnostic fee of $72 to $130 is added depending on how long it takes to find the cause, and the repair and parts are quoted before any work starts. After 5 pm and on weekends and holidays, dispatch is $330 plus the diagnostic fee.

How do I keep a heat pump running well with all the dust?

Check the filter monthly during dusty stretches, keep plants and debris a couple of feet from the outdoor unit, and have it serviced in spring and fall. The AA Comfort Club covers both visits for $300 plus tax per system each year, or $25 a month, and members pay half the dispatch fee.
