Before you book

Four things worth checking first.

Each of these takes a minute or two and none of them means opening the equipment.

  • Thermostat on Cool. Set it a few degrees below the room temperature. If the screen is blank, swap the batteries.
  • One breaker reset. The outdoor unit and the indoor fan each have a breaker. Reset a tripped one a single time. If it trips again, leave it off.
  • The air filter. Hold it up to a light. If you can't see through it, replace it. A choked filter can freeze the indoor coil.
  • Room around the outdoor unit. Pull back weeds, leaves and cottonwood fluff so air can move through the fins. Leave the panels closed.

Ice on the copper lines? Turn the cooling off.

Switch the thermostat to Off (or fan only) so the ice can melt, and call us. Running a frozen system can damage the compressor. Refrigerant and electrical repairs are jobs for a licensed technician, not a homeowner.

Describe it, and we come prepared

What your AC is doing, and what usually causes it.

What you notice Frequent causes Worth telling us when you call
The fan blows but the air is warm A failed run capacitor or contactor at the outdoor unit, or a refrigerant leak Whether the outdoor fan is spinning and the unit is humming
Nothing turns on at all Thermostat power, a tripped breaker, a float switch on a backed-up drain line, or a control board Whether the thermostat screen is lit
It runs all afternoon and never catches up Dirty outdoor coil, low refrigerant, a struggling blower or an undersized system How old the system is and whether it kept up last summer
Water around the indoor unit A clogged condensate drain or a frozen coil thawing out Where the water is and whether you've seen ice
Short bursts on and off Thermostat placement, an overheating compressor or an electrical fault About how many minutes each cycle lasts

Summer on the valley floor

Why Wenatchee is hard on air conditioners.

Summers here often climb into the high 90s and past 100, and an AC that limps through a mild June can quit in the first long heat wave. Late summer often brings wildfire smoke too, when most families keep the windows shut and lean on the AC all day.

A spring tune-up catches weak parts before that stretch. It's $179, or included in the AA Comfort Club.

  • Capacitors and contactors wear out fastest in long runs of heat.
  • Cottonwood fluff and orchard dust coat outdoor coils and choke airflow.
  • Smoky weeks load filters quickly, so check yours more often then.
  • A system that ran nonstop last August is worth a look before this one.

2026 service call fees

What an AC repair visit costs in Wenatchee.

You pay a dispatch fee for the trip and a diagnostic fee for finding the fault. The repair itself is priced separately, and you decide before it's done. Neither fee comes off the repair.

Weekday dispatch

$119

  • Wenatchee
  • East Wenatchee
  • Malaga
  • Cashmere
  • Rock Island
  • Orondo
  • Entiat

Diagnostic

$72–$130

$72 when the fault takes up to 15 minutes to find, $100 up to 30 minutes, $130 up to an hour.

After hours

$330

Dispatch after 5 p.m., on weekends and on holidays, plus the diagnostic fee.

Comfort Club members pay half the dispatch fee and save 15% on parts and labor (gases and filters excluded). Membership is $300 a year per system or $25 a month and includes a spring and a fall visit. Farther towns have their own dispatch fee: see AC repair in Leavenworth.

Older system?

When a repair still makes sense, and when it doesn't.

Usually worth repairing

  • A newer system with one failed part, like a capacitor, contactor or fan motor
  • A clogged drain or a frozen coil caused by airflow
  • A leak at an accessible fitting on a system that still uses today's refrigerant

Time to price a replacement

  • A failed compressor on an aging system
  • Repeat refrigerant leaks summer after summer
  • An older unit that runs on R-22

Replacement estimates are free, and we'll show you a central AC and a heat pump side by side. Heat pump installation in Wenatchee →

A word on R-22

We no longer use R-22, and it is no longer produced. We can still diagnose an R-22 system. If it's short on refrigerant, the honest answer is usually a new system, and we'll price it for you.

How the visit goes

From your call to cool air again.

  1. Book it

Call or send the form. The office confirms your town's dispatch fee when it schedules you.

  2. Find the fault

The technician tests the outdoor and indoor sides and tells you what failed.

  3. Approve the price

You get the repair price first. Say yes, ask questions or get a replacement estimate instead.

  4. Fix and confirm

We make the repair and check the system is cooling before we leave. If a part has to be ordered, we tell you how long it should take.

Wenatchee AC repair questions

Answers before you call.

How much does AC repair cost in Wenatchee?

A weekday visit in Wenatchee is a $119 dispatch fee plus a diagnostic fee of $72, $100 or $130, depending on how long the fault takes to find. The repair and parts are quoted separately, and nothing is fixed until you approve that price.

Can you come in the evening or on a weekend?

Yes. We offer after-hours emergency service across our service area. After 5 p.m., on weekends and on holidays the dispatch fee is $330, plus the diagnostic fee.

Why is my AC running but not cooling?

The most common reasons are a clogged filter, a dirty outdoor coil, a failed capacitor or contactor, or low refrigerant from a leak. Check the thermostat, filter and breakers first. If those look fine, turn the system off and call us.

Do you repair heat pumps that are cooling poorly?

Yes. A heat pump cools the same way a central air conditioner does, and our technicians repair both, along with the air handlers and furnaces they connect to.

Can you recharge my R-22 air conditioner?

No. We no longer use R-22, and it is no longer produced. We can diagnose the system, and if it needs refrigerant we'll give you a free estimate on a replacement AC or heat pump.

How do I keep my AC from breaking down next summer?

Book a tune-up in spring, before the first hot week. A tune-up visit is $179, and the AA Comfort Club includes spring and fall visits plus half-off dispatch and 15% off parts and labor.

Which AC brands do you fix?

We service most major brands. We install Carrier, Lennox, Bosch, Mitsubishi and other leading brands, and we're a Carrier Factory Authorized Dealer. Tell us the brand when you call so the technician can plan for it.
