Furnace Repair and Replacement in Wenatchee and North Central Washington
Whether your furnace burns natural gas or runs on electricity, we fix it, keep it tuned and help you choose what comes next. Electric furnace homes often have the most to gain from a heat pump, and in Chelan PUD territory the rebate can be substantial.
Not sure which kind you have? Here's how to tell ↓

Which furnace do you have?
The fuel decides which repairs are common, which rebates apply and what makes sense when it's time to replace.
Gas furnace
A gas line runs to the unit and a flue or white plastic vent pipes leave the house. You may hear the burner light before the blower starts. Gas furnace service →
Electric furnace
No gas line and no vent pipe. Heating elements warm the air, and the furnace sits on large breakers in your panel. Common in homes served only by the PUD.
Dual fuel
A heat pump outside does most of the heating and all of the cooling, and a gas furnace takes over on the coldest nights. Heat pumps and dual fuel →
Electric furnaces
Fix it now, plan the switch later.
Electric furnaces are simple and long-lived, but they turn every kilowatt straight into heat. When one fails, you have two good paths.
Repair
- Burned-out heating elements
- Failed sequencers or limit switches that stop elements from coming on
- Blower motors and capacitors
- Breakers that trip under load
- Thermostat wiring and controls
Our technicians quote the repair price before starting. Same dispatch and diagnostic fees as any furnace visit.
Replace with a heat pump
- Uses your existing ducts, with a new air handler where the furnace was
- Moves heat instead of making it, so it usually needs less electricity for the same warmth
- Adds central air conditioning
- Electric backup heat in the air handler for the coldest stretches
Ducted heat pump and air handler, installed: $15,331 to $26,702 at our store prices.
Utility rebates
Moving off an electric furnace in Chelan County.
Chelan PUD pays toward a first-time switch from an electric forced-air furnace to a qualifying ducted heat pump. We handle the pre-approval paperwork before any equipment is ordered.
Rebates are provided and approved only by Chelan PUD. Amounts and eligibility are subject to change. Ask us about standard heat pump rebates.
Gas furnace homes switching to all-electric don't qualify for the Chelan PUD conversion rebate. Douglas PUD, which serves East Wenatchee, has no heat pump rebates right now. Grant PUD customers in Quincy: ask us about current conversion rules. See income-qualified heat pump rebates.

Furnace questions
Furnace FAQ
Do you repair electric furnaces?
Yes. We repair electric and gas furnaces, including heating elements, sequencers, limit switches, blower motors and controls. The technician quotes the repair price before starting.
What does a furnace repair visit cost?
A dispatch fee by town, $119 around Wenatchee and $149 to $279 farther out, plus a diagnostic fee of $72 to $130. The repair and parts are extra, and neither fee is credited toward the repair. After 5 p.m., weekends and holidays the dispatch fee is $330.
Should I replace my electric furnace with a heat pump?
For most homes, yes. A ducted heat pump uses the same ducts, usually needs less electricity for the same heat and adds air conditioning. In Chelan PUD territory a first-time switch from an electric furnace can qualify for a $3,300 rebate.
Can I switch from gas to a heat pump and get the Chelan PUD rebate?
No. The Chelan PUD conversion rebate is only for homes replacing an electric forced-air furnace. Gas homes can add a heat pump as a dual fuel system instead.
How can I tell if my furnace is gas or electric?
Look for a gas line and a vent pipe running from the furnace. If there's neither, and the furnace is on large breakers in your panel, it's electric.
How often should a furnace be serviced?
Once a year, before heating season. A furnace tune-up is $179. The AA Comfort Club covers a fall and a spring visit for $300 per system a year.
