Repair or replace?

When it's time for a new furnace.

Not every problem means replacement. These are the signs that a new furnace usually makes more sense than another repair.

  • Older system. Furnaces in the 15–20 year range wear out faster and parts get harder to find.
  • Repeat repairs. Paying for a fix every winter adds up fast.
  • Uneven heat. Cold rooms or short cycling can mean the system no longer fits the house.
  • Rising bills. An older, less efficient furnace costs more to run every month.

Not sure? Book a repair visit first and our technician will tell you honestly whether it's worth fixing.

What heats your home now?

  • Gas furnace. Replace it with a new high-efficiency gas furnace, or add a heat pump for dual-fuel comfort and summer cooling.
  • Electric furnace. A ducted heat pump usually costs less to run and may qualify for a $3,300 Chelan PUD rebate.
  • Furnace and old AC. Replace both at once with a furnace and AC pair, or one heat pump system that does both.

Frequently asked questions

Answers before you replace.

How much does a new furnace cost in Wenatchee?

A dual-fuel system (heat pump plus gas furnace) runs $15,706 to $26,748 installed, and a ducted heat pump replacing an electric furnace runs $15,331 to $26,702, before rebates. Get your instant price.

Should I repair or replace my furnace?

If your furnace is in the 15–20 year range, needs repairs most winters, or no longer heats evenly, replacement usually makes more sense. If it's younger and the problem is a single part, a repair is often the better value. Book a repair visit and we'll tell you honestly.

Should I replace my furnace with a heat pump?

If you have an electric furnace, a ducted heat pump usually costs less to run and may qualify for a $3,300 Chelan PUD rebate. If you have gas, a dual-fuel system keeps your furnace for the coldest days and adds cooling. Furnace vs. heat pump for our area.

Are there rebates for a new gas furnace?

Cascade Natural Gas customers may qualify for a rebate on a qualifying high-efficiency gas furnace when gas is the primary heat. Chelan PUD rebates apply to heat pumps, not gas furnaces.

How long does a furnace replacement take?

Most furnace replacements are completed in one day. Projects that add a heat pump or change ductwork can take longer.
