How much is the Chelan PUD commercial heat-pump incentive?
Qualifying electric-resistance conversions may receive $2,400 per ton. Eligible heat-pump upgrades, additions, major renovations, and new commercial construction may receive $400 per ton.
Is pre-authorization required?
Yes. The HVAC contractor must submit pre-authorization before installation for commercial ducted, ductless, and VRF heat-pump projects.
How long does pre-authorization take?
Complete commercial submissions typically take about seven business days to review. A pre-authorization is valid for six months.
What does per ton mean?
One ton equals 12,000 BTU/h of HVAC capacity. A qualifying 5-ton conversion, for example, would have an estimated incentive of $12,000 before Chelan PUD verification.
Can new commercial construction qualify?
Yes. Qualifying new commercial construction may receive the $400-per-ton upgrade incentive but not the conversion incentive.
Which properties are excluded from the commercial program?
Chelan PUD excludes short-term rentals, long-term rentals, condos, townhomes, cabins, and other residential-style lodging from the commercial program. Some may qualify through a residential program instead.
Does the property have to be in Chelan County?
The program is for qualifying Chelan PUD commercial customers in Chelan County. The project address and utility account must meet program requirements.
