Furnace Replacement in Cashmere, WA

Cashmere sits about 10 miles up the Wenatchee River from our Wenatchee shop, so a new furnace here is close-to-home work for our crews. Tell us what heats the house today and we'll lay out the choices side by side: a gas or propane furnace, dual fuel, or a ducted heat pump that can earn a Chelan PUD incentive when it replaces an electric furnace.

Gas or propane furnace swaps Not a conversion

Chelan PUD has to approve the project before equipment is ordered, so we submit the request once you've picked a system and book the install after approval comes back. A like-for-like gas or propane furnace isn't leaving electric heat, so it doesn't count toward this amount. More detail is on our utility rebates page.

Rebates are provided and approved only by Chelan PUD. Amounts and eligibility are subject to change. Ask us about standard heat pump rebates.

Fix it or retire it?

How to tell if your furnace has one more winter in it.

Plenty of Cashmere houses are decades old, from in-town homes to farmhouses out in the orchards, and many still run the furnace that came with them. Age alone doesn't settle it. Here's how we talk it through with homeowners.

A repair usually makes sense when…

  • The furnace is still fairly young and has a clean service history.
  • The fault is a single part, like an igniter, a flame sensor or a thermostat.
  • Every room still heats evenly once it's running.
  • You're planning other changes to the house and want to wait.

Replacement usually wins when…

  • The unit is 15 years or older and the same problem keeps coming back.
  • A big part like the heat exchanger or blower motor has failed.
  • The far bedrooms or an added-on room stay cold all winter.
  • You'd like air conditioning for orchard-country summers too.

Want a technician's read first? A Cashmere repair visit is a $119 dispatch fee plus a diagnostic fee of $72, $100 or $130 (up to 15, 30 or 60 minutes). Those fees aren't credited toward the repair, and you get the repair price before any work begins. A replacement estimate, on the other hand, is free.

Start to finish

What happens after you ask for a quote.

  1. A home visit, no charge. Someone from our team drives up from Wenatchee, looks at the old furnace, the ducts, the venting and the panel, and asks which rooms give you trouble.
  2. Written options and prices. You see each route with its installed price, so you can compare a furnace, dual fuel and a heat pump on paper.
  3. Utility paperwork, when it applies. For an electric-furnace conversion we send the Chelan PUD pre-approval and wait for the go-ahead.
  4. Install day. Our crew removes the old unit, sets the new equipment, makes the gas, refrigerant and electrical connections, and tests everything.
  5. Walkthrough. We show you the thermostat, the filter and what to watch for, then clean up before we go.

Two warranties, in writing.

The equipment maker covers parts (Carrier's coverage runs up to 10 years), and Alpine Aire adds a one-year parts and labor warranty on our work. NATE-certified technicians handle service afterward, and the AA Comfort Club books a spring and a fall check for $300 per system a year or $25 a month.

Questions from Cashmere homeowners

Cashmere furnace replacement FAQ.

What does a new furnace system cost in Cashmere?

Dual fuel (a heat pump paired with a gas furnace) is $15,706 to $26,748 installed, and a ducted heat pump with an air handler that replaces an electric furnace is $15,331 to $26,702, both before tax. A stand-alone gas or propane furnace is priced at a free in-home estimate, because venting and fuel lines vary from house to house.

Is there a Chelan PUD rebate for replacing my furnace?

It depends on what you switch to. Chelan PUD lists a potential $3,300 incentive when a home moves from an electric forced-air furnace to a ducted heat pump, for applications from April 1, 2026 through March 31, 2027. Swapping one gas or propane furnace for another isn't a conversion, so it doesn't qualify for that amount. Chelan PUD approves every project, and we file the pre-approval for you.

My house has propane, not natural gas. Can you still help?

Yes. We replace propane furnaces as well as natural gas ones, and either can be paired with a heat pump as a dual-fuel system so the furnace only runs on the coldest nights.

Can I replace my electric furnace with another electric furnace?

You can, and we'll quote it at the free estimate. Most Cashmere owners of electric furnaces at least compare it with a ducted heat pump, since the heat pump adds cooling and may qualify for the Chelan PUD conversion incentive.

Do you replace furnaces in Monitor and Dryden?

Yes. Replacement estimates are free in Cashmere, Monitor and Dryden. If you need a repair visit first, dispatch is $119 in Cashmere and Monitor and $149 in Dryden, plus the diagnostic fee.

What if my furnace quits after hours?

We offer after-hours emergency service in Cashmere. After 5 p.m., on weekends and on holidays the dispatch fee is $330 plus the diagnostic fee. The office is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
