Heating & Cooling in Suncadia & Cle Elum

Snow on the roof, a furnace or heat pump that has to run all winter, and often nobody home to notice when it stops. We come over the pass from Wenatchee to repair, maintain and replace heating and cooling systems for year-round residents in Cle Elum and for second-home owners at Suncadia.

Mountain living

Local conditions that shape your system.

Both places sit high in the Cascade foothills, where winter arrives early, snow piles up and the heating season runs long. The homes, though, are used in very different ways.

Suncadia

A mountain resort community where many houses are second homes or vacation properties. They can sit empty for weeks, which means a failed furnace or a heat pump buried in snow may go unnoticed until pipes are at risk.

What matters most here: freeze protection, a system checked before the season, and a plan for who lets our technician in.

Cle Elum

A small town where most people live full time, in everything from older houses near downtown to newer builds on the edges of town. Heat runs from fall to spring, and summer afternoons can still get warm enough to want cooling.

What matters most here: steady heat through a long winter, fair repair pricing and a system sized for the cold.

Snow is the local wrinkle for any outdoor equipment. A heat pump needs to sit on a raised stand with room around it, and someone needs to keep the snow and ice off it after big storms. We plan installs with that in mind.

For owners who aren't always there

Looking after a second home's heat from a distance.

An empty house can't tell you the furnace stopped. A little planning before winter does most of the work.

Before the snow and while you're away
1
Book a visit before the season

A $179 maintenance visit per system checks the furnace or heat pump before the cold sets in. Comfort Club members get a fall and a spring visit included.

2
Leave the heat on, set low

Turning the system off in an empty mountain house invites frozen pipes. Keep it running at a low setting, with a fresh filter in place.

3
Check the thermostat from home

If you have a Wi-Fi thermostat, look at the indoor temperature now and then and turn on any low-temperature alert it offers. Ask the technician to look over its settings during your visit.

4
Have someone clear the outdoor unit

A heat pump needs open air around it. After a heavy storm, a neighbor or property manager should knock the snow off and keep the area around it clear.

5
Settle access ahead of time

Write down who can let our technician in, whether that's a property manager, a neighbor or a lockbox, so a repair isn't held up at the door.

The heat failed and you're not there?

Call us at (509) 436-1178. Tell us how we get into the house and whether anyone local can meet the technician. Our after-hours emergency service covers Suncadia and Cle Elum, but we can only start once access is arranged.

Power company

Utility incentives in this area.

Suncadia homes are served by Kittitas PUD. We haven't verified a current Kittitas PUD heating program, so we don't quote a rebate for Suncadia. In Cle Elum, check the utility named on your electric bill and ask it directly before you buy new equipment.

Heat pump rebates you may have seen on our Wenatchee-area pages come from Chelan PUD. They're only for Chelan PUD customers and don't apply in Kittitas County. The installed prices above have no rebate taken off.

Questions from the mountains

FAQ: HVAC in Suncadia & Cle Elum

Do you come all the way to Suncadia and Cle Elum?

Yes. Both are part of our regular service area. Our technicians drive over the pass from the Wenatchee shop on US-97, and every service we offer is available in both places.

How much is a service call in Suncadia or Cle Elum?

Dispatch is $189 during office hours. A diagnostic fee of $72, $100 or $130 is added depending on how long it takes to find the problem, and you get the repair price before any work starts. Neither fee is credited toward the repair.

Can I get emergency heating service at night or on a weekend?

Yes. Our after-hours emergency service covers Suncadia and Cle Elum. After-hours dispatch is $330 plus the diagnostic fee, and it applies after 5 p.m., on weekends and on holidays.

The heat went out at my Suncadia house and I'm not there. What should I do?

Call us at (509) 436-1178 and tell us how the technician can get in: a property manager, a neighbor with a key or a lockbox. We can't enter the home until access is arranged. If someone local can check on the house, ask them to look for signs of freezing until we arrive.

Do you work on gas fireplaces and inserts?

Yes. We clean, check and repair gas fireplaces and inserts. A yearly service before you start using it keeps the pilot and ignition reliable and the flame burning clean.

Is there a utility rebate for a heat pump in Suncadia or Cle Elum?

We don't quote one. Suncadia is served by Kittitas PUD, and we haven't verified a current program there. In Cle Elum, ask the utility on your electric bill. Chelan PUD rebates don't apply in Kittitas County.

Is the AA Comfort Club worth it for a second home?

It covers a spring and a fall visit for each system for $300 a year or $25 a month, plus half-off dispatch and 15% off parts and labor (not refrigerant gases or filters). For a house that sits empty, those two scheduled checks catch problems before you arrive to a cold house.
