Ductless Mini-Splits in Cashmere, WA

A ductless mini-split heats and cools a room without any ductwork: a slim indoor head on the wall, a compact unit outside, and a thin line set between them. In Cashmere it's a practical way to retire baseboard heat, cool an upstairs that bakes in July, or make a shop usable year-round.

Are you fixing one room, or replacing the heat?

Those two goals lead to different layouts and different prices, so it helps to know which one you're after before we visit.

One problem room

  • The upstairs bedroom that never cools down after a hot Cashmere afternoon
  • A converted garage, sunroom or addition the main system can't reach
  • A detached shop or studio you want to use in January
  • Usually one indoor head on its own outdoor unit

The whole house off baseboards

  • Heads in the living area and bedrooms take over from wall heaters or baseboards
  • Each head has its own setting, so unused rooms can stay cooler
  • Summer cooling arrives with it, and window units can go

Chelan PUD incentives for Cashmere

What Chelan PUD may put toward a mini-split.

Cashmere homes on Chelan PUD residential power can apply for a ductless conversion incentive when a mini-split replaces electric zonal heat such as baseboards or wall heaters. The program runs on applications from April 1, 2026 through March 31, 2027.

Potential utility incentive

$1,600

Paid by Chelan PUD, not an Alpine Aire discount. Chelan PUD approves the project before any equipment is bought, and we send that pre-approval request for you.

Rebates are provided and approved only by Chelan PUD. Amounts and eligibility are subject to change. Ask us about standard heat pump rebates.

Order of events matters.

Pre-approval comes first, then the equipment order, then the install. If a system goes in before Chelan PUD says yes, the incentive can be lost. The utility's own rules are on Chelan PUD's heat pump rebate page.

Cost and what's included

Installed ductless prices for a Cashmere home.

Each range is drawn from the mini-split systems our crews completed from 2024 through October 2026. Head count sets most of the price; the rest depends on the house.

Layout Installed, before tax What it usually covers in Cashmere
One indoor head $7,000–$8,700 A hot upstairs room, a shop or a converted garage
Two heads $11,000–$13,500 The main living space plus the primary bedroom
Three heads $13,700–$16,500 A modest baseboard house, living area and two bedrooms
Four or more heads $17,800–$21,500 Larger homes heated room by room

Prices don't subtract any utility incentive. Line-set length, wall brackets or stands, and whether the electrical panel needs a new circuit all move the final number, and you see it in writing before anything is ordered.

Older in-town houses

Plaster walls and tight attics make new ductwork messy. Heads mount on an inside wall and the lines run outside, so the house stays mostly untouched.

Often two or three heads.

Manufactured homes

Many heat with electric resistance. A mini-split can carry the load room by room, and Chelan PUD lists its highest ductless amount for this case.

Two to three heads, typically.

Shops and outbuildings

A barn office, wood shop or packing-shed break room can get its own heat and cooling without touching the house system.

One head, sized to the space.

How the install works

From the first call to a warm room.

  1. Free estimate

We visit, measure the rooms and talks through how you use them.

  2. Written options

You get prices for the layouts that fit, by head count, with the equipment named.

  3. Utility paperwork

If baseboards are going away, we file the Chelan PUD pre-approval and wait for the answer.

  4. Install and hand-off

The crew mounts the heads and outdoor unit, starts the system and shows you the remote.

What we look at during the estimate

  • Heat loss, room by room. Window area, insulation and which way the room faces decide head size.
  • Where each head can hang. High on a wall, with a short and tidy path to the outside.
  • A spot for the outdoor unit. On a pad or stand where snow sliding off the roof won't bury it, with a safe drain for defrost water.
  • Panel capacity. Whether there's space for a new circuit. Alpine's own electricians handle panel work if it's needed.

Cashmere mini-split questions

Ductless mini-splits FAQ for Cashmere.

What does a ductless mini-split cost in Cashmere?

Our installed ranges are about $7,000 to $8,700 for one indoor head, $11,000 to $13,500 for two, $13,700 to $16,500 for three, and $17,800 to $21,500 for four or more. Those figures are before tax and before any Chelan PUD incentive.

Will Chelan PUD help pay for a mini-split in Cashmere?

It may, if the mini-split replaces electric baseboards, wall heaters or other electric zonal heat in a home on Chelan PUD residential power, and the application falls between April 1, 2026 and March 31, 2027. Chelan PUD sets the amount and approves each project before equipment is bought. We send that pre-approval request for you.

Can a mini-split be the only heat in my house?

In many Cashmere homes, yes, when each head is sized to its room's heat loss and the equipment is a cold-climate model. Some owners keep a few baseboards as backup for the coldest nights. We'll tell you which approach fits your house during the estimate.

Can you put a mini-split in a shop or garage in Monitor or Dryden?

Yes. A single head on its own outdoor unit can heat and cool a shop, garage or studio without tying into the house. We size it to the building, including how well it's insulated and how often the doors open.

Which brands do you install?

Carrier, Lennox, Bosch, Mitsubishi and other leading brands. Alpine Aire is a Carrier Factory Authorized Dealer. New equipment carries the manufacturer's parts warranty, and we add our own one-year parts and labor warranty.

What upkeep does a mini-split need?

Clean filters and a yearly check of the coils, drain and refrigerant pressures. The AA Comfort Club covers a spring and a fall visit for $300 per system a year or $25 a month, with half off dispatch and 15% off parts and labor (not gases or filters). Systems with more than two heads add $30 per extra head each year.
