Ductless Mini-Splits in Chelan & Manson, WA

Around the lake, plenty of houses sit empty for weeks, then fill up for a summer weekend. A mini-split suits that pattern: heat or cool only the rooms in use, hold a safe low setting while you're away, and skip the ductwork entirely. We install them in Chelan, Manson, Chelan Falls and South Chelan.

What the lake asks of a system

Hot July afternoons, cold January nights.

Chelan sits in a rain shadow: summers are long, dry and hot, and January nights average about 22°F. A mini-split has to do real work at both ends of the year, often in a house that nobody checks on for days at a time.

  • Cold-climate equipment. We choose models that keep heating well below freezing and size them to each room's heat loss.
  • A protected outdoor unit. Set on a stand or wall bracket, away from roof drip lines, with a drain path that won't ice a step or deck.
  • A low setting for empty weeks. Heads can hold a modest temperature while nobody's there, so the house is never left without heat.
  • Cooling where you sleep. A head in each bedroom makes hot nights comfortable without running a whole-house system.

Match the system to the house

How you use the place shapes the layout.

A year-round home in Manson and a cabin that opens in May need different things from the same equipment.

The property What usually fits Worth planning for
Full-time house on baseboards A head in each main room, so ductless becomes the primary heat Chelan PUD pre-approval before the order
Second home or weekend cabin Heads in the great room and bedrooms, with a remote controller where the system supports one A low setback temperature for empty weeks
Vacation rental A head per bedroom so each guest group can set its own room Simple controls guests can't easily misuse
Guest house, shop or garage One head on its own outdoor unit Insulation and how often the doors stay open

If you live somewhere else most of the year

  • We can work with your caretaker. A neighbor or property manager can open the door for the estimate and install day.
  • Price and paperwork by email. The written estimate and any Chelan PUD forms can be handled while you're away.
  • Remote control where available. Many systems can take a Wi-Fi controller, so you can warm or cool the place before you arrive.
  • Spring check before the season. A clean filter and coil in spring means the system is ready when the summer crowd shows up.

Chelan PUD incentives for Chelan & Manson

Money Chelan PUD may contribute.

Chelan and Manson homes are on Chelan PUD power. Its ductless conversion incentive applies when a mini-split takes over from electric zonal heat, for applications received April 1, 2026 through March 31, 2027.

Potential utility incentive

$1,600

Site-built home leaving baseboards or wall heaters

Chelan PUD's money, not an Alpine Aire discount. The utility has to approve the project before the equipment is bought, and we file that request.

Other Chelan PUD cases

Manufactured home off electric zonal heat $2,000
Building with five or more units $1,000
House already heated by a heat pump Not eligible

Second home or rental? Chelan PUD decides eligibility for each account, so we ask during pre-approval, before you commit to anything.

Rebates are provided and approved only by Chelan PUD. Amounts and eligibility are subject to change. Ask us about standard heat pump rebates.

Installed prices

Indoor heads Installed price Often fits around the lake
1 $7,000–$8,700 A guest room over the garage, a shop, a studio cabin
2 $11,000–$13,500 Great room plus the main bedroom
3 $13,700–$16,500 A two-bedroom second home
4 or more $17,800–$21,500 Full-time homes and larger rentals

Ranges come from the ductless systems we installed from 2024 to October 2026, before tax and before any incentive. Long line-set runs, brackets and electrical work change the total.

Approval first, purchase second.

Buying or installing before Chelan PUD approves the project can cost you the incentive. Program details are on Chelan PUD's heat pump rebate page. Chelan PUD says an income-qualified tier starts in fall 2026.

How the install works

Who handles what, start to finish.

Your part is short
1
Tell us how you use the house

Which rooms matter, which months you're there, and what heats it now.

2
Choose a layout

Pick from written options priced by head count. We name the brand and the warranty for each.

3
Sign the utility forms

If baseboards are going, we prepare the Chelan PUD pre-approval and you sign as the account holder.

  1. Estimate visit. We check each room, the wall where every head will hang, the outdoor spot and the electrical panel. Estimates for new systems are free.
  2. Approval and scheduling. Once Chelan PUD answers, we order equipment and set an install date that works around your trips.
  3. Install day. NATE-certified technicians mount the heads and outdoor unit, run and seal the line set, and start the system.
  4. Walk-through. We show whoever is there how each head and remote works, and set a setback temperature if you'll be away.

We install Carrier, Lennox, Bosch, Mitsubishi and other leading brands, and we're a Carrier Factory Authorized Dealer. New equipment carries its manufacturer's parts warranty (up to 10 years on Carrier) plus our own one-year parts and labor warranty.

Chelan & Manson ductless questions

Ductless mini-splits FAQ for Chelan & Manson.

How much is a ductless mini-split in Chelan or Manson?

Installed, before tax: about $7,000 to $8,700 for one head, $11,000 to $13,500 for two, $13,700 to $16,500 for three, and $17,800 to $21,500 for four or more. Any Chelan PUD incentive comes off after that.

Is a mini-split a good fit for a second home on the lake?

Often, yes. You heat or cool only the rooms in use, the heads can hold a low setting while the house is empty, and many systems accept a remote controller. The layout depends on how many rooms you use and when.

Does the Chelan PUD incentive apply to a vacation home or rental?

Chelan PUD decides that for each account. We raise it during pre-approval, before you buy anything, so you know where you stand.

Will a mini-split keep up with a cold January in Chelan?

A cold-climate model sized to each room's heat loss handles typical Chelan winters, when nights average about 22°F. For hard cold snaps, we'll talk through whether to keep some existing heat as backup.

Do I need to be there for the install?

No. A caretaker, neighbor or property manager can let us in. We handle the estimate, paperwork and scheduling by phone and email.

What does a service visit cost in Chelan and Manson later on?

A weekday service call is a $149 dispatch fee plus a diagnostic fee of $72, $100 or $130 depending on time, then the repair you approve. A maintenance visit is $179, plus a $30 trip fee in Chelan and Manson. AA Comfort Club members get half off dispatch.
