What happens on every repair call

  • The technician tracks down the cause, then gives you the repair price. You decide before any work begins.
  • After the fix, the furnace runs a full heating cycle while we watch the controls and safeties.
  • If the furnace is near the end of its life, you'll hear that plainly, along with what a free estimate on a new system would cover.

Reading the signs

What your furnace is doing, and what usually causes it.

Before calling, glance at the thermostat setting, swap a filter that looks gray, and reset a tripped furnace breaker once. If the heat still won't come back, one of these is likely the story.

Common no-heat calls in Cashmere homes
1
The blower runs, but the air feels cool

On an electric furnace this points to heating elements or a sequencer. On gas or propane, the burners may be lighting and then shutting off.

2
It starts, stops, and starts again

Short cycling often traces back to a choked filter, an overheating limit switch or a dirty flame sensor.

3
Clicking, then nothing

A gas or propane furnace that tries and fails to light usually has an igniter, pressure switch or gas valve problem.

4
The breaker won't stay on

Leave it off after one reset. A breaker that trips again needs a technician, not another try.

5
New rattles, squeals or booms

Worn blower bearings, a loose panel or delayed ignition. Noises like these are worth a call before they become a breakdown.

If you smell gas, get everyone outside.

From outside the house, phone your gas or propane supplier or 911. Leave light switches alone and don't try to relight the furnace yourself.

A Carrier air handler (electric furnace)

This one wasn't a repair. In October 2026 our technician was in Cashmere for a Comfort Club maintenance visit on this home's Carrier air handler, the indoor unit of its electric heat. We don't have a Cashmere-area furnace repair photo we can show yet.

When fixing it no longer adds up

Chelan PUD incentives for Cashmere homes leaving electric heat.

Cashmere is in Chelan County, so most homes here buy power from Chelan PUD. If an old electric furnace keeps breaking down, the utility may help pay to replace it with a heat pump.

Potential utility incentive

$3,300

Switching from an electric furnace to a ducted heat pump for the first time

For Chelan PUD residential customers. The program runs April 1, 2026 through March 31, 2027, and the project needs pre-approval before the install. Alpine Aire takes care of that paperwork.

No ductwork, or only part of the house?

First-time ductless conversion, site-built home $1,600
First-time ductless conversion, manufactured home $2,000

A gas or propane furnace doesn't qualify for these conversion amounts, and homes that already have a heat pump don't either.

Rebates are provided and approved only by Chelan PUD. Amounts and eligibility are subject to change. Ask us about standard heat pump rebates.

Estimates for new systems are free. A ducted heat pump with an air handler runs $15,331 to $26,702 installed before any incentive. Get My Instant Price →

Cashmere furnace repair FAQ

Answers before you pick up the phone.

What does a furnace repair visit cost in Cashmere?

A weekday visit in Cashmere is a $119 dispatch fee plus a diagnostic fee of $72, $100 or $130, depending on whether finding the problem takes up to 15, 30 or 60 minutes. The repair itself is priced after that, and the technician waits for your go-ahead.

Can I get help if the heat quits at night or on a weekend?

Yes. Our after-hours emergency service covers Cashmere, Monitor and Dryden. Calls after 5 p.m., on weekends and on holidays carry a $330 dispatch fee plus the diagnostic fee. The office is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Do you repair electric furnaces as well as gas?

We do. Our technicians repair electric, natural gas and propane furnaces, and the air handlers and backup heat strips that pair with heat pumps.

Why does my furnace keep turning on and off?

Short cycling is often caused by a clogged filter that lets the furnace overheat, a dirty flame sensor on a gas or propane unit, or a thermostat problem. Change the filter first. If it keeps happening, a diagnostic visit will find the cause.

Is my old furnace worth fixing?

Sometimes a repair buys years of service, and sometimes it doesn't. The technician will tell you what they see. If replacing makes more sense, we give free estimates on new systems, and electric-furnace homes on Chelan PUD power may qualify for the utility incentive described on this page.

Does the AA Comfort Club lower repair costs?

Members pay half the dispatch fee and get 15% off parts and labor, not including gases or filters. Membership is $300 per system a year or $25 a month and includes a spring and a fall maintenance visit.

Do you also cover Monitor and Dryden?

Yes. The dispatch fee is $119 in Monitor, the same as Cashmere, and $149 in Dryden and Peshastin.
