The shop or equipment barn
A head over the bench keeps a work bay usable in January and bearable in August, without heating the whole building.
One head, sized to the space.
Quincy, Crescent Bar, George & Trinidad
Quincy summers are hot, the basin wind brings dust, and winter nights drop well below freezing. A ductless mini-split handles all three in the rooms or buildings you choose, with no ducts to build. It's a common answer for shops, additions, manufactured homes and houses heated by baseboards.

Where Quincy owners put them
A head over the bench keeps a work bay usable in January and bearable in August, without heating the whole building.
One head, sized to the space.
Heads in the main rooms take over the heating and add the cooling that baseboards never gave you.
Two to four or more heads.
Ductless heads can serve the living area and bedrooms directly, either alongside the existing system or in place of electric heat.
Two or three heads, typically.
New space at the end of an old duct run rarely gets enough air. Its own head fixes that.
Usually one head.
Grant PUD incentives for Quincy
Since January 1, 2026, Grant PUD's heat pump rebates are for switching from a different heating system. Swapping an old heat pump for a new one doesn't qualify. Grant PUD sets the amounts and the rules, so check with them before you buy.
| What the mini-split replaces | Under Grant PUD's rule | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Electric baseboards or wall heaters | A change from a different heating system | Ask Grant PUD whether your project qualifies before ordering |
| An existing heat pump or mini-split | A heat pump replacement, which doesn't qualify | Plan the project on its own merits |
| A furnace or other fuel-burning heat | A different system, but terms vary | Confirm with Grant PUD first |
| Nothing (a shop or new room) | No existing system to convert from | Check with Grant PUD; don't count on a rebate |
Our prices below don't subtract any rebate. Grant PUD's current terms are on its rebates page, and our utility rebates overview explains how the local programs differ. Chelan PUD's ductless incentives don't apply to Grant PUD accounts.
Cost and what's included
These ranges come from the ductless systems our crews installed between 2024 and October 2026. The count of indoor heads drives most of the cost.
| System size | Installed, before tax | A typical Quincy use |
|---|---|---|
| Single head | $7,000–$8,700 | A shop, office or bonus room |
| Two heads | $11,000–$13,500 | Living room and main bedroom |
| Three heads | $13,700–$16,500 | A manufactured home or small house |
| Four heads or more | $17,800–$21,500 | A whole baseboard house |
What moves the price: line-set length, a stand or wall bracket for the outdoor unit, and any new electrical circuit. You get the number in writing before we order.
Service calls are dispatch plus diagnostic plus the repair you approve; the fees aren't credited toward the repair. After 5 p.m., weekends and holidays, dispatch is $330.
How the install works
Lines pass through a small hole in the wall, so there's no attic or crawlspace duct job.
Each head has its own setting. Leave the shop off on weekends and the bedroom cool at night.
A heat pump moves heat instead of making it with resistance coils. Savings depend on the home and how it's used.
The manufacturer's parts warranty (up to 10 years on Carrier) plus Alpine Aire's own one year on parts and labor.
Recent local work

This install was in Wenatchee, not the Quincy area: we don't have a Quincy, Crescent Bar, George or Trinidad ductless install with photos to show yet. In August 2026 our crew put in a single-zone Carrier mini-split. We do the same work in Quincy and the rest of the area.
Job photos on this page will show finished Alpine Aire equipment only, with nothing that identifies the property.
