Heat Pump Installation in Manson, WA

Manson has year-round houses among the orchards and vineyards, and lake places that get most of their use in summer. A heat pump serves both: cooling for the hot months and efficient electric heat for the cold ones. If your house runs on an electric furnace today, Chelan PUD may pay part of the switch.

Chelan PUD incentives for Manson

What Chelan PUD may pay toward a Manson heat pump.

Lake houses and second homes

A heat pump for a Manson house you don't live in all year.

Plenty of Manson owners split their time between the lake and somewhere else. A heat pump fits that pattern well: it can hold the house at a low, steady temperature through the off season and bring it up to comfort before you return, with no wood stove or oil tank to tend.

A Wi-Fi thermostat, if you choose one, lets you see and change the temperature from your phone. We set it up on install day and walk you through the schedule.

Whether a part-time home qualifies for a Chelan PUD incentive is the utility's decision. We raise the question during pre-approval, so you have an answer before you commit to equipment.

Before you close up for the season
Choose a holding temperature

Low enough to save power while nobody's home, warm enough to protect plumbing and finishes. We'll suggest a setting for your house.

Keep the outdoor unit breathing

Ask a neighbor to brush heavy snow off the unit and keep its sides open after a storm.

Book the fall check

A pre-winter visit finds a tired part while the roads to the north shore are still easy.

Heating with gas today?

Chelan PUD's conversion money is for homes moving off electric heat. If your furnace burns gas, dual fuel keeps it for the coldest weather and adds a heat pump for cooling and mild-weather heat. We'll price it both ways so you can compare.

How the install works

Four steps to a heat pump on the north shore.

  1. Price it your way

Use the online price tool from wherever you are, or have us walk the house for a free estimate.

  2. Pre-approval first

For a qualifying conversion, we submit the Chelan PUD request and wait for approval before ordering equipment.

  3. Install day

The crew sets the outdoor unit up off the ground, connects the indoor side and runs heating and cooling before leaving.

  4. Seasonal care

A spring visit before the lake season and a fall visit before the cold keep the system ready.

Brands and warranty: we install Carrier, Lennox, Bosch, Mitsubishi and other leading brands, and Alpine Aire is a Carrier Factory Authorized Dealer. Each install carries the manufacturer's parts warranty (Carrier's runs up to 10 years) plus our own 1 year parts and labor. NATE-certified technicians do the work, and you approve the price before anything starts.

Manson questions

Heat pumps and conversions: Manson FAQ.

Is there a Chelan PUD heat pump rebate in Manson?

Yes, for Chelan PUD customers whose project qualifies. Replacing an electric forced-air furnace with a ducted heat pump for the first time carries a potential $3,300. A first-time ductless conversion pays $1,600 in a site-built house or $2,000 in a manufactured home. Chelan PUD approves the project before equipment is ordered, and we send that request for you.

Does a second home or lake cabin qualify for the rebate?

Chelan PUD decides that, not us. We ask during pre-approval, so you know before you buy. The separate income-qualified program is limited to primary residences.

How much does heat pump installation cost in Manson?

A ducted heat pump with a new air handler runs $15,331 to $26,702 installed. If it replaces an electric forced-air furnace and Chelan PUD approves the $3,300, that becomes $12,031 to $23,402. Dual fuel runs $15,706 to $26,748, single-zone ductless $7,000 to $8,700 and multi-zone ductless $11,000 to $21,500. Estimates for a new system are free.

My Manson house heats with gas. Can I still get money from Chelan PUD?

Not for the conversion. Chelan PUD's fuel-switching rule pays $0 when a gas-heated home goes all-electric, and dual fuel usually gets nothing because the furnace stays. A heat pump can still make sense for cooling and lower-cost mild-weather heat, and we'll price both options.

What does a heat pump repair visit cost in Manson?

Manson is in our $149 dispatch zone. A diagnostic fee of $72, $100 or $130 is added depending on whether finding the problem takes up to 15, 30 or 60 minutes, and you approve the repair price before work starts. After 5 pm, on weekends and on holidays, dispatch is $330 plus the diagnostic fee. These fees are not credited toward the repair.

Can a heat pump carry a Manson house through the coldest weeks?

Yes, when it's sized for the heating load first. We choose cold-climate equipment and back it with electric heat strips, or with a gas furnace in a dual fuel setup, for the coldest nights.

Can you recharge my old R-22 heat pump?

We no longer use R-22. If your system runs on it, we'll lay out repair and replacement options side by side so you can decide.

What does maintenance cost for a Manson heat pump?

A maintenance visit is $179 per system, plus a $30 trip fee in Manson. The AA Comfort Club covers a spring and a fall visit for $300 per system a year or $25 a month, with half-off dispatch and 15% off parts and labor (gases and filters excluded).
