Why prices vary
What moves your price up or down.
Two homes on the same street can land at opposite ends of the range. These are the main reasons.
- System size. A larger home needs more heating capacity. Our store prices four sizes, from small-to-mid homes to large ones.
- Equipment tier. Good, Better and Best tiers differ in efficiency and comfort. Best systems are variable-speed, which run more quietly and hold a steadier temperature.
- Where the air handler goes. Vertical installations, such as in a closet or basement, cost $500 less than horizontal ones in an attic or crawlspace.
- Your existing ductwork and wiring. Ducts in poor condition or an electrical panel without room for a new circuit can add work. We point these out before you commit.
